Purple Passion...

Over the past few months, it seems as though the vast majority of our clients selected purple as the main color for their weddings, with gray/silver being a top pick for accent colors!  We are sharing a few of the pieces we did for a recent wedding...thanks to one of the guests who shared the photo of the wedding program we did.  We love seeing our stationery in action!

"Tangerine Tango" Inspired Invitation by Absolutely Inviting

As promised in our recent blog post on Pantone's Color of the Year 2012, here is an invitation mock up we did using "Tangerine Tango". This color can be paired with muted/neutral colors such as Blacks, Browns, Creams, Grays etc. for a bold yet classic look (typical of winter and fall weddings), or it can be paired with festive colors such as Greens, Yellows, and Pinks for a fun and flirty look (think spring and summer weddings)!

For our sample, we decided to do a three layered square invite with a simple damask inspired graphic. Because we know how hard it is sometimes to visualize your completed invitation, when you order your invitations at Absolutely Inviting, you can receive a 'true to life' digital proof like this one prior to us finalizing a design for your invitation mock up!

Wedding Feature: An Absolutely Plush Event!

A few months ago we were approached by Kelli & Steffan to design the stationery suite for their wedding celebration on July 23, 2011. Based on the vision they had for their event, we instantly came up with an idea for their stationery suite which consisted of a pocketfold invitation set with coordinating response cards, envelope liners, and wax seals customized with the couple's monograms, (surprise shower invites), ceremony programs, menu cards, table numbers, and a seating chart.

The suite used the base colors of cream and tan with coral to add pops of color. Metallics, Patterns, Transparent Papers, and Lush Ribbons were combined to make an Absolutely Plush set. The detail at this event was simply astounding - from the decor, to the amazing groom's cake which symbolized the groom's love for his fraternity, to the candy bar where guests were provided with bags with customized labels to fill up with their favorite candy.

We received AWESOME reviews on this set from the couple, their parents, guests, and their wedding coordinator. Here is what the bride herself had to say:
Good Morning Absolutely Inviting, I am writing to thank you for the invitations. I knew that your work and skill was untouched and mastered; but now that I have your actual product in my possession, I can truly say that your work reflects everything that you say about your company.

When we first met, I gave you my ideas and you listened to each detail. But better still, you brought that detail to life in your work. You gave me exactly what I asked for and more. I can see and have great appreciation for every hand-crafted detail that was placed into the invitations; each lined and sealed to perfection.

Thank you, Absolutely Inviting. You are and continue to be a great force within the local stationery industry; but I am sure that that greatness lies ahead for you above and beyond the local industry. Your work continues to speak for itself.

Thank you so much!

Baby, Baby, Baby: Baby Shower Feature

We have been so busy with our clients' events recently that we have not posted in quite a while, so here is a quick post just to keep you up to date! We did these invites for a repeat client a couple months back, and we got good reviews on them! The host wanted an orange and pink color scheme to match the linens and other decor and here is what we did (we were so happy that the honoree loved the invite - we just love our repeat customers)

On the 11th day of Christmas Absolutely Inviting gave to me... A Christmas Card Specially Designed for Our Family

A Christmas card is a greeting card sent as part of the traditional celebration of the Christmas in order to convey between people a range of sentiments related to the Christmas and holiday season...with a higher preference of handmade gifts during the 19th century over purchased or commercial items, homemade cards carried high sentimental value as gifts alone. (Wikipedia.com)

Here are personalized family Christmas Cards made by Absolutely Inviting shown along with our candle favors featured in our last post

On the 9th day of Christmas Absolutely Inviting gave to me... A true love who asked "Will You Marry Me?" : (Engagement Party Feature)

Christmas and New Year's Day are probably the most popular times for marriage proposals. Perhaps that is because at this time, people are thinking more about family and love, and looking forward to a new year and a bright future. Hmmm - we wonder how many of our fans will receive marriage proposals this season...!

Here is a sneak peek of an invitation set we did for an engagement party recently:

The set contained an invitation with a ribbon closure, matching envelope with a customized seal, and direction cards.

Remember, Absolutely Inviting can create stationery for your entire journey down the aisle...engagement announcements/party invitations, save the dates, invitations etc.

On the 3rd day of Christmas Absolutely Inviting gave to me...the wedding of Krystle & Giovanni (Wedding Feature - October 2010)

We were approached by this couple to create one of a kind stationery for their October nuptials. The couple's wedding incorporated shades of purple with hints of green and silver (a very popular color combination this fall). The bride had a basic idea for the invitation, and Absolutely Inviting's task was to bring this "idea" to life. The couple loved their stationery suite which included a customized monogram, invitations, ceremony programs, hymn sheets, menu cards, table numbers, and a seating chart.

This couple was ABSOLUTELY lovely
Their event ABSOLUTELY sentimental
Their stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!

And Baby Makes...: Baby Shower Feature

A few months back we advised that we would be temporarily halting client consultations, and alot of our Facebook friends wanted to know why. We promised that we would let you all know the reason in due time, so here it is:

On Sunday, September 5th at 4:11 a.m., we welcomed a beautiful baby boy into this world! Our son, born at 7lbs, 7 oz, is truly a blessing. We therefore took some time off to enjoy our new bundle of joy while working on various projects we had already committed to.

We are sharing one of the first (of hundreds :-) ) shots taken during a photo shoot with photographer Warren Grant, who we found out about after he did an engagement session for some friends. He also took some shots that will be included in our next wedding feature. You can visit his website HERE or his Facebook page HERE

For our SURPRISE baby shower I created the invites - Yes it was a surprise. Here were the instructions I received... "Design the invites and leave a space for the date/time/venue". My family insisted that I design the invites because that way they could ensure that the stationery would be to my liking - how cute :)

The invitation colors were mint and chocolate (which were incorporated in everything from the decorations to the oh so yummy cake!) The dot motif on the three layer invitation 'just happened', but strangely enough this season saw LOTS of baby items in green and brown with dot/circle motifs! Focus was placed on the fact that we were not finding out the baby's gender, and to reflect this, we used a boy/girl teddy bear graphic outlined with a question mark. The invitation also contained a matching outer seal.

Viva Las Vegas! Wedding Feature

This particular wedding feature is of personal significance to us.

The bride: one of my best friends, former school-mate, and maid of honor in our June 2006 nuptials The groom: my husband's fraternity brother, fellow All American track and field teammate, and groomsman in our wedding as well.

They met during our wedding festivities and if I didn't believe in destiny before - I do now, because they are simply meant to be. This couple decided to have their wedding celebration in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. The ceremony was held at Wynn (by the way - this hotel is absolutely stunning) and the reception was held at Trevi at Caesar's Palace (by the way the calamari is absolutely delicious :-)!

The colors chosen were aqua and pewter, and the stationery suite included invitations and favor tags. The clients gave us a basic idea of what they wanted, and we came up with a gate-fold invitation concept using their custom designed monogram as a closure.

This couple was ABSOLUTELY fabulous
Their event ABSOLUTELY Vegas
Their stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!

Congrats again to our friends: Mr. & Mrs. Smith!

Summer, Summer, Summertime!!! Wedding Feature

Summer is the ideal time to kick back and enjoy spending time with family and friends. We were approached by this couple who wanted their nuptials to be just that...a relaxed and casual setting with their closest family members and friends. Their request: simple and tropical with natural elements.

For the laid back morning wedding, we created a single layer invite using a paper with natural flecks which definitely added texture and character. For the tropical element, we incorporated a double hibiscus motif. Their stationery suite included invitations and table numbers and was just what they wanted.

This couple was ABSOLUTELY lovely
Their event was ABSOLUTELY intimate
Their stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!

Enjoy!!!

By the way - Don't you just love this uber tropical centerpiece? We loved how fruits such as peaches and pineapples were used in the coordination with roses, other flowers, and greenery.

A Reason to Celebrate!!!

As you probably already know, Absolutely Inviting caters to celebrations of all kinds! Last month we were asked to do invitations for a private cocktail reception in honour of Mr. Kevin McKenzie, the 2010 recipient of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association's Supervisor of the Year award!

Such a high honour required an elegant celebration (which of course meant that elegant stationery was needed in order to set the mood for the event). The client requested burnt orange/rust as the color, and we were given creative freedom. We did a three layer invite incorporating the client's request, adding bronze and cream elements. They loved the final product.

This gentleman was ABSOLUTELY deserving
His accomplishment was ABSOLUTELY commendable
The stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!

Spring Ahead: Wedding Feature

We have been so busy designing, we have been a little delayed with design updates recently; however, as promised, here is our first wedding feature for the year!!!

Looks like Absolutely Inviting is becoming more and more popular for "off island events" as this wedding was held on the beautiful island of Exuma in the Bahamas. The clients opted for a envelope fold invite and of course the colors, which were fun and bright, were representative of the season. This colorful invite used shades of pink, orange, yellow, blue, and green between the papers, graphics, and text. The stationery suite included invitations and ceremony program. Enjoy!

Nahdia & Jamaal - December 2009

We were appproached by this couple after they saw our stationery at the wedding of their friends Therell & Theron in July of 2009. We were extremely excited about this being our very first "off-island event".

The couple's wedding incorporated fuchsia - which turned out to be a very "haute" winter color, and Absolutely Inviting's task was to capture their wedding personality on paper...chic and fabulous. Their invitations gave their guests a preview into their highly anticipated wedding, and we received tons of compliments on this stationery suite which also included ceremony programs, menu cards, and table numbers.
See below for a sneak peek into their event.

This couple is ABSOLUTELY chic.
Their event was ABSOLUTELY fabulous.
Their stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!

by the way Isn't this couple Absolutely Gorgeous?!
We can't wait to see the official wedding photos :-)

Johniqua & Kennon - November 2009

Traditionally November is known as "Turkey month", but this couple's fab invites made another bird the star of the show. Their peacock themed invites were definitely the talk of the town!!! This couple told us their colors and theme, and we took it from there. Both the couple and Absolutely Inviting received amazing feedback from this invitation set.
Enjoy!

Tenille & Ingram - July 2009

After being asked by Tenille & Ingram to design their stationery suite for their impending nuptials, we hit the ground running with their design concept. Because they were inviting many out of town guests, they wanted to give them "a taste of the island". They purchased a customized logo which they incorporated from the invitations and programs to the aisle runner and gift bags! Their suite included save the date cards, invitations, programs, bookmarks, and table numbers.

The couple loved their products AND our service so much that they presented us with an amazing gift as a token of their appreciation. We were extremely humbled by this and once again we say thank you. The couple had amazing responses from their stationery set as well, and even had to convince some of their guest that they were done right here in the Bahamas. She e-mailed us to say that she was asked if she got her invitations from New York, to which she responded that they were done by an "island gyal with a dream". We love it!

This couple was ABSOLUTELY graceful.
Their wedding was ABSOLUTELY unique.
Their stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!

Here's a sneak peek into their event:

***Just added here's an e-mail we received from the bride (this was so thoughtful we had to share). We hope you enjoy!

Island gyal with a dream, I want you to remember two things. The first is that I coined that term and the second is that you were most instrumental in making my wedding a success! From the moment that you walked into my office over a year ago and started pulling out your samples it took me two seconds to find someone who got what I was looking for.

I cannot tell you how many times on a stressful day when I just thought eloping would be so much easier that I pulled out that Save the Date or "The Invitation of the Year" just to remind me why I was going through all the stress. Your work is flawless and I love so much that you are a perfectionist. It was easy to just let you do your thing and just say yes to whatever you wanted to do because I know that whatever you presented it would be in line with my dream wedding.

If I had to do a wedding report card you would definitely get an A+ for your beautiful work. You have a fan and a friend for life.

I always try to give praise where it is due and for what you did for me you deserve a church service! I wish you all the luck in the world but you won't need it cuz gyal you gat talent!

Therell & Theron - July 2009

We were approached by Therell and Theron to design their stationery suite for their wedding on July 11, 2009. They wanted a style that was simple, elegant, and compact, and as a result they selected a mini pocketfold style invitation. Their suite also consisted of a ceremony booklet, table numbers, reception programs/menus, and tags for their gift boxes. Their selected colors were gold, and orange. After meeting with the client, we decided to use elements such as metallic papers, ribbons, and rhinestones to create their ultimate stationery set.

During the design phase of the couple's monogram, we decided to include a hibiscus which the couple fell in love with and which we incorporated throughout the set. Just as this couple was meant to be, this design must have been meant to be as to our surprise the hibiscus motif was also reflected in the decor of the reception site!

Due to the overwhelming responses prior to the wedding, we opted to post the client's feedback earlier. We must mention that we are humbled by the responses received by the guests today. However, the most gratifying responses were those of the bride and groom's mother who absolutely loved the style and quality of the couple's suite; we were given rave reviews by them as well.

This couple was ABSOLUTELY stunning.

Their wedding was ABSOLUTELY beautiful.
Their stationery - ABSOLUTELY INVITING!
